Kevin Griffin’s ‘Omey Island, Last Man Standing’ tells the story of Pascal Whelan and his life on Omey Island, County Galway. Pascal is a former stuntman who travelled the world plying his trade in movies, TV and live shows. However after the death of a work colleague, and friend, during a live show Pascal’s career was finished. Pascal returned to Omey Island where he lives alone to this day.
Including 46 colour photographs by Kevin Griffin complemented with an assortment of archival material from newspaper cuttings, old photographs from Pascal Whelan’s personal album, letters, a small map and a brief history of Omey Island.
About the Artist
Kevin is a photographer, based in Clifden, Connemara. His personal work has been shown widely, including the Saatchi Gallery, Hamilton’s Gallery, Photographers Gallery, and the Recontres d’Arles, where he is a regular exhibitor.
