“Issue#2 is looking at portraiture. In researching for the issue, we’ve realised quite how broad a sub-genre portraiture is, covering everything from studio portraits, self portraits, mug shots, found images, imagined worlds, documentary work and always a fascinating reflection on the subject, the photographer and society as a whole.
Photographic work in Issue#2 comes from the likes of Charles Fréger’s ’Wilder Mann’ project, MacDonaldStrand’s look into the magical world of the Beachers, Jim Mortram’s documentary work in his ‘Small Town Inertia’ work, a selection of work from Tim Andrew’s ‘Over the Hill’, some stunning work from Julia Fullerton Batten, Jim Naughten’s fascinating look into the fascination of war with ‘Reenactors’, Jen Davis’ revealing and intimate self portraits and the found work of Scouse photographer Keith Medley.
In addition, we have 8 exclusive articles and interviews from Joanna Cresswell, Lou Miller, Jen Davis, Jim Mortram, Maja Daniels, Alis Oldfield, Portrait Salon and Eleanor O’Kane. Miranda Gavin returns as editor and is joined by Miniclick Curators Lou Miller as sub-editor and Jim Stephenson as commissioning editor. The publication has been designed by Emily Macaulay StanleyJamesPress and all 200 copies will be hand bound with letterpress covers.”
