This Desolate Land’s Portraits
66 pages
15cm x 15cm
This Desolate Land investigates an aspect of the everyday and through so doing constructs a psychological representation of the uncertainty produced by the current economic crisis.
The photographs are produced and located within the limits of the N11 road, which connects the rural topography of County Wexford to the suburban city centre of Dublin. The journey through time and space along this series incorporates both portraits and landscape imagery which together evoke a sense of place both intimate and uncertain. This mix serves as a constant reminder that land is not simply a commodity for development and exploitation.
