Photojournalist and photo artist Peter Granser’s images seem absurd, ironical and comical at the same time. For the picture series “Sun City” he portrayed wealthy senior citizens in the pensioner`s paradise of Sun City, the largest community of senior citizens in the US. Granser received one of the renowned World Press Awards 2002 and the Arles Discovery Award 2002 for “Sun City”.

About the Artist:
Peter Granser, established already with his first project Sun City a significant documentary style and succeeded in developing his work over the years by combining photography, video and sound.
Granser is self-educated and was given the Arles Discovery Award (2002), the Oskar-Barnack Award (2004) and the Helmut-Kraft-Foundation Talent Art Prize (2011). In 2006 he was a stipendiary of german art foundation Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg. In 2016 he was nominated for the Shpilman International Prize for Excellence in Photography by the Israel Museum, Jerusalem.
