Sam Falls explores the intersection of colour, perception, digital imagery and natural processes – and in the case of Problems with Decomposition – Sam Falls also brings into context the element of temporal existence. This series consisting of organic matter juxtaposed against car tires takes on all of these concepts. Moving between the photographic image and their subjects imprint via “stamping” via paints on the print.
Falls is not only a photographer but also a writer, painter, videographer, and a curator, based in Brooklyn, New York. As an artist Falls moves between varied themes and subject matter in his work, and he also experiments with different styles and mediums. Falls often uses personal fixtures in his life as the subject of his work, from his mother to his horse.
