Vytautas V. Stanionis printed photographs from the film of his father, also Vytautas (1917–1966), which contained photographs of Seirijai and surrounding districts’ inhabitants created for documents, they were made in 1946, when the Soviet authorities changed passports to Soviet ones. There is no plot in shots, no acting, no other details, only static faces of people in neutral white background. Nameless faces lose their identity now and become certain allegories of people’s fates in the post-war years.
Vytautas V. Stanionis, born in 1946, is a professional photographer and the editor of his late father’s work.
