Dr Strand is the title of an exhibition and a book about the late doctor, feminist and activist Kitty Strand. The personal picture-memoir is told by her daughter, Nina Strand. Kitty and Nina were planning a journey across the U.S. that they never had time to take before Kitty passed away in 2001. In 2012 Nina took the trip together with her own daughter in order to revive her mothers thoughts and ideas – for one last time.
About The Artist
Nina Strand works as a photographer, writer and is the founder and editor of Objektiv, a Norwegian journal for lens-based art. Strand has earlier published the photobook “So, How Do You Think You’re Doing?”, a collection of photographic novelettes that are driven by the thoughts and desires of the chief figure, the photographer herself.
