Rostfrei Publishing started as an idea of creating a platform for bringing to light visual content we find inspiring, critical and inventive. That is what they did for many years with a trans-Balkan street magazine called Kontejner and now we feel that it is time to take it to another level.Rostfrei strongly believe that the book can function the same way as any art form does: as an expression of artist’s creativity, often with social commentary, but sometimes in a purely abstract way, in absence of words or recognizable imagery and can serve as an extension of artist’s practice. That is why they work closely with an artist from his idea to its realization in the book format, making sure that every book they publish is a special aesthetic and tactile experience, printed and handcrafted in our own backyard.
