My Car is a Rolls Royce is a piece of work that looks at the condition of small town Britain and explores a once industrious region, now redundant and decaying, where both its people and environment try to retain their identity as a new Britain rises from the rubble of the old. Chris Collins is a documentary photographer based in Birmingham, U.K. His work explores the concepts of identity within social discourse from a subjective viewpoint; with a curiosity that aims to raise questions more than answer them.

About the Artist

Chris Collins is a documentary photographer based in the West Midlands. His work explores the concept of identity within social discourse, with a curiosity that aims to raise questions more so than to answer them. Most of his works are self-initiated projects that stem from an autobiographical foundation but rather than look internally he looks at the external as a means to observe his own conditions through the observation of others.
